When I was bored off regular upama, I tried this simple item...
Ingrediants :
1. 1 cup Semolina of wheat/Sooji (Hindi)/Rava (Kannada);
2. 2-3 tbl spn puliogere powder (MTR);
3. 1/2 tea spn chilli powder
4. 1/2 tea spn mustard seeds
5. 1 tbl spn peanuts
6. 4-5 curry leaves
7. 2 tbl spn oil and salt to taste.
Procedure :
Take one cup of semolina and fry it with two tablespoons of butter/oil until you get nice aroma. Add this fried sooji to two cup water (separate vessel with stirring to avoid formation of lumps) for 5- 7 min. Allow it to cool.
In a separate vessel, heat oil add mustard seeds, peanuts when they are fried, add curry leaves followed by chilli powder, puliyogare powder and salt to taste. Keep frying for 2-3 mints on a low flame.
Add the boiled sooji, mix thoroughly on a low flame and serve hot...

(Puli means sour taste; Ogara means rice in Halegannada !)
