Green gram : 1 cup ( soaked or boiled)
Carrot grated : 1/2 cup
Onion : 1 medium
Fresh coconut grated : 1/2 cup (can be varied)
Curry & Coriander leaves : few
Oil : 1 Tbsp
Hing : a pinch
Turmeric powder : 1/4 tsp
Lemon juice : to the taste (optional)
Chillies : 3 -4 green, & 2 -3 Red ones
Mustard , Jeera seeds for seasoning.
Salt : to the taste
Method:
Wash & chop the beans.
Take a cup of green gram, u can use soaked ones or dry ones. Here am using soaked green grams, as its said that soaked one will have better nutritional values.
Pressure cook both Beans & green gram separately, keep it aside
Take
a utensil, add oil , add mustard seeds, jeera, when they splutters add
onion, red chillies, curry leaves, fry until the onion turns
brown/transparent.
Now add chopped green chillies, fry for few min, add grated carrot,add hing, add grated coconut
fry for few mins until carrot gets cooked.
Now
add cooked beans & green gram, add salt to taste, mix well, let it
be on medium flame until all the water content gets evaporated.
After removing frm heat lemon juice can be added.
Garnish with coriander leaves.
Can be had with Jolada roti, chapati or as side dish with mudde-saaru :)
