ಸಬ್ಬಸಿಗೆ ವಡೆ ~ Sabasige Vade

Sabasige Vade, Dal vada

Sabasige Vade can be a nice evening snack with tea/coffee or in mornings in combo with idli.




Ingredients :

Bengal /Channa Dal : 1 Cup
Dill/Sabasige : 1 - 1/2 cups chopped
Onion : 2 medium
Garlic cloves : 5 -6
Ginger : 1 inch
Green chillies : 5 -6 (depends)
Jeera : 1/2 tsp
Rice flour : 1/2tsp







Method :

Wash & soak channadal for about 3 -4 hrs for better results. After 4 hours drain out the water & keep it aside.
Chop sabasige/Dill.
Chop onions to small pieces.
For Grinding :
Grind green chillies, ginger,garlic, jeera, coriander & curry leaves (few) altogether to a coarse paste.
Now grind Channa dal coarsely as shown in the pic.
While grinding no need to add water.




Mix well altogether, you can add 1/2 onion  cut into small pieces, add salt to taste.






Take small portions of the mixture, make vadas by patting between your palms,as shown.




Fry them until they turn golden brown on both sides.




Serve hot, can be had with coconut chutney, tomato ketchup..
